Sally Duplantier

I am a gerontologist with a mission to help older adults live their best lives longer. My research and professional work focus on increasing Healthspan—the number of years in which we are free of chronic disease and disability. Americans are living longer than ever before, but they are not living better. Approximately 85% of older adults have at least one chronic health condition, and 60% have at least two chronic conditions, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

I founded Zing to enable older adults to take charge of their health from a holistic perspective. I provide education and coaching related to lifestyle choices, including nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress, which contribute to 80% of chronic diseases and over 90% of US healthcare costs. I also partner with non-profits to improve health outcomes for underserved and under-represented populations. My current work is focused on addressing food insecurity experienced by one in every five people living in California (even though California produces half the country’s fruits and vegetables).
